The Fosi Audio ZD3 is a balanced DAC and preamplifier that boasts excellent connectivity with its multiple inputs and Bluetooth 5.0 chip. The digital-to-analog conversion of the ZD3 is based on an ESS ES9039Q2M DAC chip, supporting PCM up to 32bit 768kHz and DSD up to DSD512.
The pre-amplification stage uses DIP8 op-amps, allowing for replacement if you desire a different sound character, and it provides a output level of 5Vrms.

To provide the cleanest sound reproduction possible, Fosi Audio chose a balanced architecture in the design of the ZD3.This design significantly reduces the distortions that one channel might create on the other.
Fosi Audio ZD3: ESS ES9039Q2M DAC Chip
With its ES9039Q2M DAC chip utilizing Hyperstream IV technology and benefiting from the advanced Sabre HiFi architecture, the ZD3 is capable of supporting PCM signals up to 32bit 768kHz and native DSD up to DSD512.
Fosi Audio ZD3: Excellent Connectivity
The ZD3 features five different inputs, allowing it to adapt to any setup. In addition to HDMI ARC, optical, and coaxial inputs—each accepting signals up to PCM 24bit 192kHz—you can also use the USB-B input, which supports PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD512 thanks to the built-in XMOS XU316 interface. If you prefer the convenience of a wireless connection, the ZD3 also includes a Qualcomm Bluetooth 5.0 QCC3031 chip, enabling support for high-resolution codecs like aptX and aptX HD.
Fosi Audio ZD3: Interchangeable Op-Amps
The amplification stage of the ZD3 uses LME49720 op-amps, providing an output level of 5Vrms via XLR and 2.5Vrms via RCA. Moreover, since these op-amps are mounted in DIP8 format, you can easily replace them with other op-amps that have different sound profiles, allowing you to tailor the pre-amplification to your preferences.
Fosi Audio ZD3: Low-Noise Voltage Regulator
To ensure the cleanest possible power supply, the ZD3 is equipped with multiple low-noise voltage regulators. This design ensures that the power needed for the device's operation does not interfere with your audio signal.
